Since a few years, alabaster is the artist’s preferred material: this translucent, almost organic stone leads her towards figuration. The object finds its footing, drawn directly on the rock, then sculpted in low-relief on both faces. Her most recent drawings synthesize, in a way, the formal and plastic language established since her New York pastel designs. Indeed, the very graphic image is engraved directly on the stone, then painted with gold on thin alabaster sheets – a return to the profile of things.
